Advanced Laboratories for Teaching & Research

The Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences has well-equipped laboratories with modern instruments and facilities to support practical teaching, student training, and research activities. Students, with the guidance of faculty members and technical staff, utilize these facilities for academic and research work.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry Lab

The Pharmaceutical Chemistry Laboratory supports practical teaching in organic chemistry, biochemistry, and medicinal chemistry. It is equipped with specialized instruments for practical and research work.

Basic Medical Sciences Lab

The Basic Medical Sciences Laboratory provides facilities for practical learning and includes equipment such as ECG machines, ESR fast detectors, haemometers, kymographs, centrifuges, and Neubauer chambers.

Pharmaceutics Lab

The Pharmaceutics Laboratory supports Pharm-D practical training and provides students with hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation and dosage-form related experiments.

Pharmacognosy Lab

The Pharmacognosy Laboratory supports the study and extraction of crude drugs from medicinal plants. It is equipped with instruments such as microtomes, microscopes, and rotary evaporators.

Industrial Lab

The Industrial Laboratory provides facilities for pharmaceutical dosage-form formulation and practical training using industry-oriented equipment and manufacturing processes.

Analytical Chemistry Lab

The Analytical Chemistry Laboratory supports pharmaceutical quality control and analytical work. It is equipped with instruments including dissolution and disintegration testing systems, flame photometer, and UV spectrophotometer.

Microbiology Lab

The Microbiology Laboratory supports advanced teaching and research activities and houses facilities including laminar flow hoods, autoclaves, microscopes, shaking incubators, and hot air ovens.

Animal House

IPS has a centralized, air-conditioned animal house with dedicated rooms for animal housing and experiments. The facility supports student research, animal trials, metabolic studies, and experimental work.
